Wayne Weeseekase Obituary

Wayne Weeseekase was born on February 21, 1969 in a two room house on Mudie Lake Reserve. Back then, nobody had vehicles and families would harness their horses and sleighs or ask nearby neighbors to take them to town.  His mother went into labour and his grandmother and auntie delivered him while the other kids were sent next door to wait. After a short time his uncle came to tell the kids to go home and meet their new little brother.  He was the first boy born in the family and his mother was so happy she had her baby boy after 7 girls. She loved Wayne so much but she didn't get to see her son grow up as he was taken as a baby, a part of the 60's scoop.  Mom passed away in 1978.
He is predeceased by: his mother, Sophie Weeseekase (Nov 30, 1978); his father, Jimmy Wahpistikwan (Dec, 1993); his sisters, Sharon Weeseekase (2010), Eliza Whitstone (Feb 19, 2008), Josephine
Waterhen (Oct, 1995), Millie Weeseeekase (Aug, 1980), and Roselynn Weeseekase (Oct, 1976); his brothers, Norman Partridge (June 30, 2007); his nieces, Julianne Waterhen (July, 2006) and Shakira Crookedneck (Oct 25, 2016); his nephew, Randy Lewis (June, 1978); and his aunt, Amy Waterhen (1998).
Wayne is survived by:  his only son, Jesse Lewis; his sisters, Dawn (Ronnie) Lewis, Patsy (Chris) Weeseekase, Cathy Moses, Patricia (Danny) McCallum, Louise (Brian) Merasty, and  Eileen (Lloyd) Matheson; his brothers, Warren Weeseekase, Leon (Marcella) Weeseekase, and James Partridge; his aunts, Martha Wahpistikwan, Christina Fly and Violet Wahpistikwan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
