Vincent Curtis Chief

On Saturday, July 14, 2018, Vincent Chief of Onion Lake passed away at the age of 33 years.  At 17 months Vincent “Bindun” Chief came to live with the Masson family (Harry & Christine Masson). Vincent was a kind, gentle, outgoing young man who enjoyed travelling and cooking.  He was a loving dad and he knew how to put a smile on your face. His blonde hair lit up the room like the sun. Vincent was the crazy young uncle that was always joking around and kept you laughing, he was more of a brother than an uncle to all the nieces and nephews.  Vincent had a nice smile and it looked good on him. When Calgary Flames scored he yelled the loudest. He picked on his sisters, Summer and Wynter, and kept calling them mommy’s girls and brats. He was soft spoken and a gentleman. He loved his children very much. He worked hard while keeping his children. When he wanted to talk, he’d catch me (Melody) alone and ask me to go for a walk. Yes, Vincent loved his children, both moms and dad, and his sisters. We will miss you son, brother. 

Vincent will be remembered by his children, Sharlize Pahtayken, Neveah Chief, Morgan Chief, Marty Chief and Sheldon Chief; his siblings, Charlene Young of Cumberland House, Wynter Chief of Saskatoon, Summer Chief of Edmonton, Tony of U.S.A., his half siblings, Brian Naistus of Edmonton, Eagle Feather of Onion Lake; his adopted siblings, Lazarus (Doreen) Masson, Muriel (Roger) Lewis, Coreen Masson, Jacob (Leona) Masson, Rhonda (Bruce) Paskimen, Deborah Francois; his mother, Marilyn (Tom) Chief, his adopted mother, Christine Masson; his uncles, Russel Chief, Borden Chief and special friend, Lisa Badger of Sturgeon Lake.

Vincent was predeceased by: his father, Herman Naistus; his adopted father, Harry Masson (2011); his maternal grandparents, George and Genevieve Chief; his paternal grandmother, Rema Naistus (2002); his cousin, Sheldon Chief; his aunts and uncles, Warren, Gary, Kathleen, Bernice, Georgina, Sandra, Theresa, Gloria Chief, and numerous other relatives.
