Theodore Michael Kurjata

Ted Kurjata was born on April 17, 1933 in St.Walburg Sk. He attended school there and helped his father on the family farm until his marriage to Lena on July 8, 1959. Together they had 5 children, Marylou, David, Kathi, Jacky and Andrea. Ted and Lena remained on the family farm until 1965 when they purchased their farm in Makwa. They retired from farming in 2005 but continued to live on the home quarter in Makwa. As well as farming, Ted was a Crop Insurance Adjuster and Marketing Agent for a total of 15 years. He was an active member in the church and community and was a proud member of the Makwa Lions Club. Ted’s family and faith were very important to him.
  Ted was predeceased by: his beloved son, David; his parents, Paul and Honorata ; his siblings,Stan (Bertha),
George(Madeline),Sophie(Ray),Florence(Dan)and infant Edward; his brothers-in-law, Jack Thomsen and Rosaire Etcheverry; and his sister-in-law, Rose Kurjata.
   Ted leaves to mourn:  his loving wife of 61 years,  Lena;  his daughters,  MaryLou (Paul) Wunder, Kathi, Jacky, and Andrea (Randy) Legault; his 5 grandsons, Josh (Tamara), Jesse (Cassie), Sam, Reed and Beck; his 2 granddaughters, Faith and Sofia; his 5 great-grandchildren, Everleigh, London, Mase, Rone and Huxley;  his brother, Victor; his sisters, Joanne Thomsen, Lillian (Lambert) Wourms, and Helen Etcheverry; his in-laws Julius (Leath) Kurjata, Wanda (Ian) McCaskill, Judy (Al) Abbott, Joe (Maryanne) Kurjata ,and Terri (Eugene) Knight;  as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
