Shirley Lewis Obituary

Shirley was born on December 27, 1966 to Florestine Lewis and Edward Weeseekase.  In her early years she lived in Onion Lake with her aunt and uncle, Flora Lewis and Duncan Quinney.  She later moved to Witchekan Lake First Nation where she met the father of her children, James Witchekan; and there she raised 6 beautiful children, and her two grandsons whom she raised as her own, Dreyson, and Drayden, along with her bossman, Kyron.  Mom's struggle increased since her Lupus diagnosis in 2013.  Mom faced a hard-fought battle, but that never brought her spirits down.  She always made sure to attend any occassion whether it be a wedding, a dance, birthday dinners, or wakes.  Her most favourite moments were to attend a dance where her brothers and nephews were playing.  She loved and enjoyed being there even though she was not the type to dance.  Mom had the biggest heart, not just for her siblings but also for her nieces and nephews.  She loved every single one of them as her own and they loved her back just as much.  Mom's favourite pastimes were playing bingo, slots, and playing cards; if you were in a card game with her you best be ready to lose because with mom it was "Game On."  When mom met Willie in 2010, she not only fell in love with him but also with his children, and from that moment they were family.  Family was everything to her and she showed it in every way.  Mom was a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially by her beautiful children, and grandchildren whom she fought so hard to stay for.
