Shane was born on December 26, 1977 to Joyce Cantre and William Weeseekase. As a child, when he heard the beat of a drum and powwow singing he would just start dancing. He had a natural talent. He was also talented in writing songs and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with his singing and dancing. He had a good sense of humour and liked to make people laugh. Shane was an exceptional athlete. As a youth, he had a passion for body building and dedicated most of his life educating himself and learning everything about body building. He encouraged and trained his brothers, nephews and cousins to do the same. I'm sure he is proud of them now for carrying on his legacy. Shane believed in his culture and had a lot of respect for it. Shane had a big heart and was generous with sharing everything he had. He loved his family and took all of his nieces and nephews in as his own. We will miss him and his sense of humour and will forever cherish the beautiful memories in our hearts.
He is predeceased by: his maternal grandparents, Christine Cantre (May, 1968) and Johhny Dubois (Feb, 2012); his paternal grandparents, Harriet Weeseekaase (Aug, 2010) and Robert Hoff (Aug, 2013); and his special cousin (brother), Winston Cantre.
Shane leaves to mourn: his mother, Joyce Cantre; his father, William Weeseekase; his sisters, Crystal and Tonya Cantre; his brothers, Gavin (Misty) Cantre, Daryl (Faideh) Cantre, Joel (Mavis) Kytwayhat, Robby (Kristie) Cantre and Jordyn Cantre; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
