Ruby Ann Whistone (Mom) was born on July 14, 1960 in Onion Lake, SK to JB Whitstone and Lena Harper. Mom was born in her Kokom and Mosom's family home with help from the (late) Monica Whitstone and (late) Ida Muskego. Since the day Mom was born she was a strong, resilient, independant, traditional woman with a huge heart for everyone in her life. She always made time for us all, especially for her chicims and chapans. Ruby was a devoted, beautiful individual who found her strengths through her traditional beliefs and ceremony.
Ruby is survived by: her step-mom, Irene Whitstone; her children, Janice (Sheldon), John, Jolene (Malcolm), Tracy (James), Kirby (Wendy), Justin, and Nolan; her godson, Kirk Chief; her siblings, Erma, Pearl (Walter), Glenda (Roy), Grant (Tori), Karen (Joe), Vivian, Denise, Leroy (Tammy), Clinton (Renee), and Marnie; her adopted son, Eric Martell; her aunts, Edna Cannepotato, Madeline Quinney, Helen John, Rose Watchmaker, and Marjorie Waskewitch; her grandchildren, Shania, Shanice, Sheridan, Shjon, Nipin, Joseph, Sundance, Brydon, Marley, Aumarie, Desiree, Janeigh, Harleigh, Addison, Masson, Ryder, Hayleigh, Skyler (Brandi), Jarell, Mercury, Samarah, Isabella, Chase, Ava, Ryker, Jbri, Kirk, Navaleigh, Cael, Vanna, Kamille, Khalid, Kianni, Kaylena, and Greg; her chapans, Serenity, Lena, Araya, Jason, Kayson, Esmé, and baby Cook (on the way); and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren that she loved.
She is predeceased by: her parents, JB Whistone (1996), and Lena Harper (2003); her son, Kirk Carter (1985); her grandson, Shelby Cook (1998); her daughter-in-law, Cherish (2014); her nieces, Anita (2006), and Sabrina (2018); her nephews, Ferlin (2012), and Greg (2013); her cousin, Rodney (2013); her paternal aunts and uncles, Elmer (1997), Joseph (2016), Raymond (2007), Henry (2006), Charlie (1997), Edna (1995), and Lynda (2017); her maternal aunts and uncles, Alex (1986), Clara (2013), Theresa (1991), Mary Rose (1992), Cecelia (2020), Jerry (2013), and George (2014).
