Roy Mitsuing Obituary

Roy "Joe" Mitsuing was born in Loon Lake, SK., on April 15, 1957 to Emma Margaret Mitsuing and Alfred Sandfly.  Sadly he lost his twin brother, William, at the age of 4 to pneumonia.  Roy met his beautiful wife, Irene Nicotine, at Red Pheasant Sundance at the age of 16.  He then fell in love and they have been together for 38 years.  Together they raised 3 sons, 1 daughter, and 3 nephews.  They were blessed with numerous grandchildren.  Roy was very cultural.  He would attend all ceremonies including powwows, sundances, chicken dances, etc.  Roy had his own sweat lodge and shortly before his passing was telling his son, Nathan, that he will need to take his lodge and teaching.  In his pasttime, he loved watching U.F.C. boxing and playing bingo and going to the casino.  In Roy's younger years, he served as a band counselor, health director, and most recently worked as the Medical Taxi.  Roy was a very dedicated, loving and compassionate man.  He loved his children so much and supported them in the powwow circle.  His great sense of humor will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him.
He is predeceased by: his parents, Emma Margaret, and Alfred; his sister, Eliza Mitsuing; his brothers, Sidney Mitstuing, and William Mitsuing; and his brother-in-law, Tom Ouellette.
Roy leaves to mourn: his wife, Irene Nicotine; his sisters, Julia Ouellette, Linda Canning (Norman), Lillian Demarais, Colleen Sandfly, Annabelle Sandfly, Eileen Kahpoonapit, and Joan Sandfly; his brothers, Norman Gervais (Dorothy), Bruce Mitsuing (Caroline), Mitchell Sandfly, and Leon Sandfly; his children, Nathan (Jamie), Vernon, Walter, Patrick (Marrisa), Sheniya (Matt), Joseph, and Brose; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
