Rosemarie Veenstra Obituary

Rosemarie Veenstra entered her eternal peace at Maidstone Health Complex after a short struggle with cancer.

“Rose” was born in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan to Adam and Evelyn (Vallee) Lorenz. After completing her schooling in St. Walburg, she met and married Ernie Veenstra, who was in the RCAF.  Together they lived in Portage La Prairie, MB., Saskatoon, SK., Cold Lake, AB., Fort Saskatchewan, AB., and Gibbons, AB.; and after a lengthy career with Safeway finally enjoyed retirement in St Walburg and Little Fishing Lake, SK.

Rosemarie was predeceased by: her husband, “Ernie” Veenstra; her parents; her infant twin daughters; and her brothers, Sylvester, Mervin and his wife, Mary, John, James, Ronald, and Randy; her sister, Marcia Dow and her husband, Bert; Ernie’s brothers, William, and John and his wife, Rita.

She is survived by: her sons, Don (Tracy), Terry (Christine), Sonny (Yvonne), Kevin (Kim) and Jamie (Sharen); her special daughter, Samantha Karle; her foster son, Ragan Chahley; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Herbert and his wife, Maureen Lorenz, Rodney and his wife, Caroline Lorenz; brother and sisters-in-law, Bob and Rose Veenstra; and Sandra Veenstra, Margaret Lorenz and Estelle Lorenz; and a very large extended family and many, many dear friends.
