Nathaniel Ray Paddy-Heathen passed away peacefully at the age of nine years old surrounded by his family and caregivers at Hope’s Home in Prince Albert. Nathaniel was a warrior, who against all odds overcame many obstacles and barriers every day and did so with a smile on his face.
Nathaniel loved being with family and other children, and they loved him. Nathaniel would often be found with a group of friends surrounding his chair, playing with him, pushing him around, or offering to assist with his care. Nathaniel enjoyed being outside and having the sun in his face. He bowled, played bocce ball, swam, attended pow wows and cultural events, rode through spray parks and participated in dance and dance recitals. Nathaniel loved bells and chimes and had a room full after receiving a sensory room wish. Each time a bell was rung a smile could instantly be seen on Nathaniel’s face, despite how he may have been feeling that day. He loved the bells at Christmas that played Christmas carols and the bells and chimes provided a sense of calm and comfort. Nathaniel was the light in every room and everyone that met him loved him immediately.
