Mervin was born on July 28, 1959 in Goodsoil, SK., to Pierre Crookedneck and Julia Crookedneck. Mervin was a very spiritual man who believed in the cultural beliefs taught by our father and our late sister, Eliza. He loved attending cultural ceremonies with our brother, Elvis, and often traveled with his friends during the summer to attend ceremonies, and often met new friends along the way. Mervin was a gifted singer in chicken dances and partook when needed. He enjoyed spending time visiting his chichims and chapans when he was back home, he loved them all. Mervin loved to play bingo and watching his favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. He was looking forward to their home opener on Thursday, but it was never meant to be. Mervin will be missed by all who knew him. We will forever miss our son, brother, uncle, mosom, and chapan.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his mother, Julia Crookedneck; his aunt, Christine Pahtayken; his siblings, Shirley Pahtayken, Leona Crookedneck, Lillian Crookedneck (Lard), Elvis Crookedneck, and Sylvia Crookedneck (Michael); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives; and his favorite buddy/grandkids, Tahrel Crookedneck and Kendal Matheson, he made sure they had gifts every Christmas.
He is predeceased by: his father, Pierre Crookedneck; his siblings, Eliza Crookedneck, Harriet Crookedneck, Christine Cantell, Embert Crookedneck, and Burton Crookedneck; his uncles, George Pahtayken, Norman Pahtayken and Edward Pahtayken; and his aunt, Josephine Horse.
