Lorne David ("Chub") Harris

Lorne David Harris was born on June 17, 1991 to David Harris and Dawn Nedelec in Lloydminster, SK. Due to his adorable baby rolls the nickname “Chub” stuck for life, so much so that he was five years old before he even knew that that wasn’t his real name. Chub loved the outdoors from day one - farming his sandbox, playing in the bush, dirt biking, hunting and fishing, everything outside was his favourite.  Chub attended St. Walburg School until the age of 16 than he joined the School of Hard Knocks, which was perfect for him because he was always a kid that you couldn’t tell anything to… he had to learn everything on his own and always the hard way. Chub struggled with addiction during his teen years and into his 20’s and finally went to treatment at Leipzig Serenity Retreat where he found the help and support that he needed to get clean.  Chub was always known for his charisma and smooth talking, so much so that after he got clean, he managed to talk his ex-girlfriend back into his life. Lorne and Christine had dated in the past but once he was clean, he was determined to win her back. He told all of us that she was “The One” and that was what he always called her. August 16, 2019 their son, Jacob, was born. This point was truly the bright beginning of Lorne’s future. Lorne worked a variety of jobs including working rigs, swamping at Hoffman’s, working as a sales man for his favourite Hutterites, doing maintenance at Leipzig, and as a farm hand for Rindt’s. Even the years Lorne didn’t have job he always had a way of making cash. The past few years he found a job he was passionate about when he started his own business. Lorne purchased his own equipment and started logging. He loved the bush, physical labour and running equipment. He had a goal in mind and was working hard for his family.
   
Lorne passed away unexpectedly in the forest, in an equipment accident. 
   
Lorne is survived by: his partner, best friend and lover, Christine Hall and their son, Jacob; his parents,  Dawn Nedelec-Mckellar and David (Holly) Harris; his siblings, Bobbie (Stan) Stephenson and their children, Lindey and Leo, Brooke (Dylan) Harris,  Hailey Mckellar and Kevin Mckellar; his grandparents, George and Helen Harris and Garry and Hazel Nedelec; and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were so very important to him.
  
Lorne is predeceased by: his uncles, Robert Harris and Gerald Nedelec;  and his cousins, Corey Nedelec, Josh Lyon, Hana Johnson and Monica Nedelec.
