Leonard was born on July 29, 1942 in Paradise Hill, SK. He attended school in Kilronan until grade eight and took part of his grade nine but quit to go work in Lloydminster for two years. He returned to Paradise Hill and worked on the family farm with his brother.
On November 25, 1967 Leonard married Paulette Beliveau. On April 1 they moved to the farm to start their life together. In 1988 they purchased First Klass Auto Body and operated it until January 1, 1997 when they bought the Circle 8 Hotel, now known as Smokin Lens, which they still own today.
Leonard loved hunting, fishing and playing texas holdem but the best part of his life was his family. He devoted his entire life to them. He will be greatly and fondly missed by them all.
He is predeceased by: his parents, Hildagaurd and Alfons Kuypers; his brother, Bernard Kuypers; his father-in-law, Paul Beliveau; his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kuypers and Louise Moylan; and his nephew, Baby John Paul.
Leonard is survived by: his wife, Paulette; his children, Grant (Shelly) and their children, Garet and Ian, Dean (Janda) and their children, Dausen, Rylen and Baby Kuypers and Lenora (Skip) Selk and their children, Ty and Jolene; his sisters, Mary (Fred) Schreiber and Annette (Gordon) Reeve; his mother-in-law, Pierrette Beliveau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
