Kenny Standingwater

Kenny Standingwater (Sakahweno) was born on October 28, 1966 to Elizabeth Standingwater and John McAdam, in Turtleford, SK.  He was better known as Chigee by family and friends and was raised on the Thunderchild First Nation.  Chigee was one of those characters that loved to make people laugh.  He was humorous, and would do or say the silliest things just to make people laugh.  In his younger years, he was an excellent traditional dancer and loved break dancing.  He loved his music and dance and took every opportunity to play his guitar and drums.  Chigee loved to cook and was a great cook, especially after he completed his cooking courses.  He was very proud that he taught his children mixed martial arts and understanding the Cree language and culture.
     

Chigee is predeceased by: his mother, Elizabeth Standingwater; his siblings, Roger, Clara and Darlene Standingwater; his daughter, Angel Starr Lister; his cousins, Sheldon and Adam Standingwater; his nephews, Travis and Dayton Standingwater; his father, John McAdam; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Maria Standingwater; his paternal grandparents, Peter Nip McAdam and Clara McAdam; his aunt and uncle, Amy and Andrew Paddy; his brother-in-law, Warren Albert; and his friend, Clifford (Jap) Lewis.
     

He leaves to mourn: his children, Teddy (Andrea) Jimmy, Emerald (Boyd) Standingwater, Twyla Standingwater, Diamond (Josie) Standingwater, Silken (Tanner) Standingwater, and Jasper (Alexa) Standingwater; his siblings, Bernadine (John) Graham, Elaine (Alvin) Baptiste, Marcell and Derwin Standingwater, Janeen (Sid) Littlewolfe, Tierra and Sever Standingwater, Gloria Paddy, Darlene (Blair) Sapp, Janet Paddy, Barbara (Ray) Moyah, and Barry (Laureen) Paddy; his grandchildren, cousins, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.  He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
