Kenneth James Thompson passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023 in Maple Creek . Ken was born on March 5, 1944 in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan to Nancy and Sydney Thompson. Ken attended the Meadow Dew District School where he completed his high school diploma a year early before attending a short stint at University in Guelph, Ontario. Ken went on to work in the oil patch before marrying Charlotte Thompson (nee Brassard) on August 5, 1967. They raised three loving children, and have seven grandchildren; Cindy (Justin, William and James) Perrin, Dean (Amber, Jude and Isla) Thompson and Kim (Kjersti, Stella, Sofia and Knox) Thompson.
Ken had a successful, 40-year career at Cargill where he worked in various roles that took him and his family across Canada, from Saskatchewan to Ontario, and back again. Ken forged many great lifelong friendships throughout his career and beyond. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Charlotte, often visiting his children and grandchildren, either down on the ranch, out west in the Rocky Mountains or across the pond in Europe. Ken spent many of his summer holidays, surrounded by family and friends, at the Cabin at Little Fishing Lake, where he always had a project on the go. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to spend an evening on the lake catching pickerel while watching the sun set.
Ken is predeceased by his: brother, Stuart; mother, Nancy; and father, Sydney Thompson.
Ken is survived by: his wife, Charlotte Thompson; daughter, Cindy (Justin) Perrin; sons, Dean (Amber) and Kim (Kjersti) Thompson; brothers, Keith (June) and Marvin (Bea) Thompson; grandchildren, William and James Perrin, Jude, Isla, Stella, Sofia and Knox Thompson.
