Kenneth (Kenny) Melbourne Schwartz, of Maidstone, SK., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the age of 74. Ken was born in Lashburn, SK., son of the late John and Vera (Huxley) Schwartz. He spent his childhood on the farm north of the gully in the Eldon District, then farming and ranching until retiring, he moved to an acreage just north-east of Maidstone in 2004. Ken was an avid horse breeder, raising quarter horses for 50 years, passing on his passion for horses to his daughter. Ken’s greatest joy was time spent with Caroline, his family, children, and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed having coffee and visiting with neighbours, and, of course, anything involving horses.
Ken leaves to cherish his memories his: devoted wife of 26 years, Caroline Smith; daughter, Tammy (Schwartz) & Glen Nelson; granddaughters, Paige Nelson, Brooke (Nelson) & Emmett Ruskowsky; sister, Audrey (Schwartz) & Colin Pierce; sister-in-law, Joan Schwartz; stepchildren and their families, Debbie (Smith) & Dave Shepherd, Tyrell & Julie Shepherd, Kayla (Shepherd) & Cam Simkins, and Charlie & Bobbi Smith, Graham Smith and Merissa Smith; nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and numerous great nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by: his son, Randy; his brother, Keith, and his brother-in-law, Neil Newby.
