Kelsey Amberlee Waskahat

Kelsey Amberlee Waskahat was a vibrant, adventurous, intelligent, outgoing old soul.  She had so much love for everyone and made a huge impact on everyone she met.  She was a leader and an inspiration to her peers.  She loved animals, her dolls, and she loved to sing and dance.  She loved life…in her short life she taught her family at least one lesson…to live life to the fullest.   She had a special bond with her chapan, Linda, who taught her the traditional ways of our culture, attending all kinds of ceremonies.  Her name Warrior Princess came to be after she was diagnosed on September 4, 2020 with a rare form of brain cancer (D.I.P.G.), which she fought a courageous battle against until the very end.  Kelsey will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Kelsey is survived by: her parents, Amber and Jarrett; her sister, Mariah (Miya); her maternal great-grandparents, Roland and Linda Waskewitch; her maternal grandparents, Cheryl Whitstone, and Clinton Stonechild her paternal grandparents, Mona Mercredi, and Glen Waskahat; her godmother, Alma Whitstone; her godfather, Dennis Whitstone; her uncles, Kane (Shelly), Rhiver, Joaquin, Rhichard (Holly), Stacey, Junior (Natasha), and Zachery; her aunts, Madison, Amy, Cierra, Ashlyn, Tilleen, Shannon, Morning Star (Grant), Nicole, Elizabeth, and Megan.

Kelsey was predeceased by: her paternal great-grandparents, Pete and Ernestine Waskahat, and Marie Rattlesnake, and Philip Mercredi; her uncle, Kelsey Ferdinand Gabriel Waskahat; her great aunt, Tammy Whitstone; and many more relatives too many to mention.
