Justine Meetoos Obituary

Justine Meetoos was born and raised in Thunderchild First Nation to Edward and Genevieve Horse. She met and married Brednar Starr. They had 3 children. Brednar passed and went on his journey in 1978.  Justine later met her 2nd husband, Lawrence Meetoos. They got married and had 4 children. He passed and went on his journey in 2006. Justine raised her children as best as she could by herself.

Mom enjoyed the outdoor life, her passions were sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed attending all outdoor sports, her ball team, the Thunderchild Rockets, and cultural events, pow wows, cultural ceremonies.  Mom took advantage of every opportunity to play a game of Bingo.  Mom was our social butterfly who enjoyed everyone's company.  She was always full of laughter and had a wild sense of humor, there was never a dull moment when she was around.  Her close family, especially her nieces, nephews and grandchildren, were the apple of her eye. Mom was very talented when it came to sewing, beading, and her cultural teachings, she loved teaching anyone and everyone how to sew and bead, as she was a wizard around the sewing machine.

Justine is survived by: her sons, Donavon (Jean), Randy (Stacey), and Tyrell; her daughters, Melanie (Mario), Amelia, and Olivia (Leslie).

She is predeceased by: her parents, Edward & Genevieve Horse; her son, Conway; her brother, Ernest; her sister, Genevieve; her partners, Brednar Starr, and Lawrence Meetoos.
