Joyce was a loyal Daughter, avid Auntie, Sister, Friend, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, and she took delight in everything about this adventurous life. She raised four daughters and was the grandmother of eight and a great grandmother of six.
Joyce was born at Bright Sand, Saskatchewan, on April 19th 1936, the oldest of eleven siblings to Vera and Jim Carnell. The family moved to a farm south of St. Walburg in 1949 and into town in the fall of 1953.
Joyce moved to Saskatoon as a teenager and travelled to Toronto where she met Claudio Kert, whom she called Kert for all his days. Claudio, brother to Georgio and Renato, was born in Postumia Italy, and came to Toronto after the war like so many others. Joyce and Kert had four daughters, Danielle Ann (Bob Gray) and their children, Mark and Craig, Joni Denise Catherine (Michael Kravitz) and their children, Elizabeth (Kyle Joyce), Reuben and his son, Jax, Anna (Cameron McKinnon) and Alison (Spencer Watkins) and their son, Wesley, Penelope Elizabeth (John Kuzmich) and their children, Emily and her children Micheal, Samantha, Jordyn and Dakota, and their son, Jeremy, and Jennifer Joyce and her much loved dogs, Boomer and Fred.
Joyce moved to St. Walburg in 2007 where she became a faithful member of the Lutheran Church. Joyce loved and valued community service, she loved babysitting dogs and spending her time with her family, she loved adventure, she loved life, she loved love.
She is predeceased by: her father, Herbert Charles Carnell; her mother, Ava Vera Carnell; her husband, Claudio Kert; and her sisters, Judith Carol Joa and Eileen Vivian Ellis.
