Joseph Ernest Horse was born at Onion Lake Cree Nation and was raised on Thunderchild First Nation. Ernest lived a very humble life throughout his years. He was a hard working man who provided for his family. He worked various jobs and was employed by Thunderchild as a carpenter for a number of years and retired as the sanitation engineer. Even though he never completed elementary he was very mechanically inclined and was very good at what he did. People would come from near and far to have their vehicles serviced and no job was too small for him. Ernest enjoyed family visits especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite past time was bingo and when 4:00 o'clock rolled around he had his bingo dabber in hand was ready to go out the door. His family will remember all of the wonderful stories of dad and will cherish and miss him dearly.
