Jason was born on July 10, 1975, to Lila Horse and Billy Wapass. He grew up in Thunderchild, and has lived in Saskatoon for the past 20 years. He attended school in Thunderchild and received his grade 12.
Jason loved to laugh, his compassion for others was evident in the way he treated others and how he lived his life, no hate - just love. Like his mom, he loved his music, be it country, rounddance and pow-wow. His love of our culture and traditions was key in his upbringing and he never "lost" his nehiyawin as he still spoke it fluently, despite living in Saskatoon the past 20 years. Jason was a proud father to Joey and when he was born he immediately began a sober life for the sake of his son. Jason had been sober for 29 years, he understood the importance of breaking the cycle, and enjoying each day.
