Ione (Nichols) Williamson

Ethel "Ione" Williamson was born June 23, 1933, to Ethel and Elmer Nichols.  Ione was born, raised and lived in the Loon Lake area her whole life.  She attended Queen Valley School in the country, then went to Loon Lake for her senior years.  Ione married Hugh Gordon Williamson on July 10, 1951, at the Alliance Chapel in Vermilion, Alberta. Together they resided in the old Loon Lake district, where they farmed and raised five children.  Ione was a homemaker, commercial cook, store clerk, and helped out on the farm. She could operate most farm equipment along with Gordon. She also helped many people in the community over the years. 
   

Ione is predeceased by: her husband, Gordon; her daughters, Mary (infant) and Marilyn; her parents, Elmer and Ethel Nichols; her sister, Patricia Lygas; her brother, Reg; her son-in-law, Bill Malarkey; her in-laws, Ralph and Mary Williamson; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
     

She is survived by: her daughter, Joyce Malarkey; her sons, Ross (Carol), Max (Dawn), and Rance (Cyndi); her sister, Dora Parenteau; her aunt, Bernice Krutow; and her thirteen grandchildren, and 9 great- grandchildren.
