I was born during the depression years in 1932. What a lovely, integrated neighborhood of Irish, Scot, Germans, English, Hungarian, Ukraine, Jewish - we were all alike, poor and happy. Those were the days of horse and buggy, delivering bread, milk and ice blocks (Arctic Ice). The hot summer days were spent swimming at the Ave H pool and playing in Victoria Park where lawn bowling was a daily event. I went to Princess Alexandra School and then to Saskatoon Technical School. My family was in construction so I worked during school days keeping the books. After graduation I went to work for C.N.R. then got married - had 5 children. I lived in Saskatoon until 1969 and then moved to Lloydminster and worked as an insurance agent. Then I went to work for Husky Energy from which I retired. I spent many years at Turtle Lake. I traveled for many years to the U.S.A. and enjoyed a trip to Japan but Hawaii was my favorite place.
