Gilbert Waskewitch was born at Paradise Hill on May 15, 1949 to Alfred and Eva Waskewitch. He is the 3rd youngest of a family of ten. Gilbert was a fun-loving man. He loved joking and teasing friends and relatives, especially his nieces and nephews. He loved to fish. Gilbert was a hard-worker, and worked as a farm labourer in his younger years. Later he moved to Onion Lake to work as a security at Chief Taylor School. He loved dressing up his vehicles and would modify them as best he could.
Gilbert is predeceased by: his parents, Alfred and Eva Waskewitch; his sisters, Mathilda Waskewitch, Annie Berland, Rosalie Waskewitch, Victoria Waskewitch, Hazel Waskewitch, and Lorraine Waskewitch; his brothers, Henry (Julia Chief) Waskewitch, and Ricky Waskewitch.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his brother, John (Violet) Waskewitch; his sister, Linda Waskewitch; his daughters, Jessica Cook, and Wanda Cook; his numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gilbert also leaves to mourn: his adopted son, Christopher Crookedneck and his family; and the family of his step-brother, John Wolfe.
