Frances Irene (Grant) Panian

Frances (Frankie) Panian was born on May 6, 1936 in Harlan, SK to Don and Florence Grant, the eldest of four. The family moved to Florence’s parents homestead near Hazlet, SK in 1940, and lived there until 1946, when they returned to the Harlan district, near Frenchman Butte, SK.

Frankie worked as a Nursing Assistant in Onion Lake, SK and a telephone operator for AGT in Lloydminster, AB. There she married Robert (Bob) Panian. They moved to Loon Lake, SK in 1963, and this would be home until 2013, when she and Bob moved to Saskatoon. Mom worked as assistant administrator for the Village of Loon Lake for many years, from 1973 until her retirement in 1990; also serving on the Cemetery Board and the Housing Authority. After retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed fishing, traveling and their grandchildren. In 2013, they made the hard decision to leave their home of many years and move to Saskatoon for health reasons. Still, Loon Lake always remained “home”, and Mom loved to go back for a visit.

Frankie leaves to mourn her passing: her loving daughters, Lynda (Yvon) Bertrand and Joan Horne; her brothers, Don (Jessie) and Gifford (Lorraine) Grant; her sister-in-law, Margarete (Gary) Grant, her sister-in-law, Lorraine (Rueben) Moch; her five grandchildren, Jeremy (Andra) Bertrand, Chantel (Cory) Grismer, Aletha, Kate & Ben Horne; her two great-granchildren, Coby & Calleigh Grismer; and her extended family and many friends.

In accordance with Mom’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Those wishing to extend condolences may do so at www.marshallsfuneralhome.ca. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
