Devin "Son" Jordan Belly

May 16, 1995 ~ June 10, 2021 (age 26)

Obituary

Devin Jordan Belly was born on May 16, 1995 in Lloydminster, SK. to Pauline Cook and Robert Belly.  His aunt, Marilyn Carter took him in when he was 4 months old, and legally adopted him when he was 2.  Marilyn always called him "Son", and that became the name we all called him by.  Son was a very happy little boy.  He used to do a "jig" to make everyone laugh.  His younger cousins loved to follow him around because he was always making them laugh.  He was very into his video games and bonded with his siblings and cousins over this.

In 2017, Son met Chanelle Lightning in Edmonton, AB.  He came to love her daughter, Lacorra, and took her as his own.  He was so happy and proud when he learned that he and Chanelle had a baby on the way.  On November 6, 2018, his life changed when his pride and joy, Malika Jae, was born.  He was an amazing father to his 2 girls.  Son loved them more than anything, and he will always be with them.

Son was predeceased by: his father, Robert (Bobby) Belly; his mother, Pauline Ann Cook; his sister, Robyn Paula Cook; his uncle, Conrad Cook; his cousin, Leanne Opissinow; and his mosom, John George Opissinow.

He is survived by: his mother, Marilyn Carter; his sisters, Kimberley Carter (Cassidy), Candace Cook (Morgan), Tiara Opissinow, Farrah Lumberjack, and Haley Oseemeemow; his brothers, Elliot Lumberjack, Robby Oseemeemow, and Brandon Belly; his nieces, Kassi, Takara, Mercedez, Tyezquinn, Arabella, Esme, and Penelope; his daughter, Malika Lightning, and Lacorra Bearhead; the mother of his children, Chanelle Lightning; his step-father, Warren Baptiste; and his grandparents, Leona and Gordon Cook, Florence Opissinow, and Rosia Belly
