Delbert Whitstone Obituary

Delbert grew up in Onion Lake, and was raised by his parents, Eric Lewis and Cecile Whitstone, he also lived on Quest Farm with his siblings and parents.  Delbert was a little terrorizer to his brothers, sisters and cousins, and it was all either good, bad or ugly.  Delbert liked to fish, trap, and to be with his nephews, teaching them things that would have to do with fixing cars or cleaning the house, but he also had a lot of  fun with them.  Delbert loved to cook, and eat like there was no end to it.  Delbert was very well liked and making friends was easy and he would leave an impact on your life.   Delbert worked on the highway for years before he made the choice to move to Edmonton, AB., to get to know family better.   Delbert always had the knack for giving names to family members.  For instance, Leland Ladoucer was Big Brother; and his niece, Brittany Whistone's family name was my "Fiji Neechie's".  Delbert struggled with alcohol but when he decided to quit, he would.  He was a humble, caring, and loving kinda guy.  He would help you any way that he could.  You had to meet Delbert to know what we are talking about.  Delbert also has kids that he raised and called his own.

Delbert (Perkins) worked with the Fire, Rescue, and Peace Keepers.  Perkins looked up to his supervisors, especially Ron Quinney.  When fighting fire, he never left Ron's (Chief) side.  Perkins took pride and dedicated his heart and soul when it came to helping the lives of the people of Onion Lake.

Delbert is survived by: his parents, Cecile Whitstone, and Eric John Lewis (Mary); his brothers and sisters, Wayne Whitstone, Rex Whitstone (Georgina), Derwin Whitstone (Doreen), Rebecca Weir (Patrick), Rita Whitstone, Nita Whitstone, Sheldon Whitstone, Erica Holzt (Dwayne), Edgar Whitehead (Roxanne), Gabriel Whitehead (Melanie), Derrick Whitehead (Lillian), Marsha Whitehead (Ivan), Janelle Whitehead (Roy), Teddy Whitehead, Dustin Lewis (Twylia), and Nicole Lewis (Lawrence); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by: his two older sisters, Dorothy Boakye, and Cheryle Whitstone; and his grandparents from both sides.
