Darryl Crookedneck

Darryl Lee Crookedneck was born on August 27, 1967 in Loon Lake, SK to Maria and Peter Crookedneck. Darryl was the middle child of 11 children. Darryl was the peace maker and always used humor to make people laugh and forget about their anger. Darryl loved family; his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and all that were family to him.

Darryl was a fighter, he fought for his life starting at a young age in which he lived through T.B and came home with 2/3 of one lung. As a result of this he would get sick easily and his life was riddled with many hospital visits. Darryl always kept a cheerful and happy attitude through it all and was an example to others to always be happy, no matter the circumstances.

Darryl lived his life in Ministikwan as he loved the home he came from. He worked in Taber, Alberta doing seasonal harvesting for as long as his health allowed him to.  Some of Darryl’s favorite hobbies were singing, karaoke, dancing, two stepping, and break dancing in his early years with his brothers and cousins. He also loved sports. He played hockey, volleyball and baseball; for the Warriors, Highway 21 and Big Island teams.

Darryl also loved to tease people. If you got into a back and forth banter with Darryl, he would always have to have the last say!!

Darryl fought a good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith. Darryl gave his life to the Lord before he crossed over.

Darryl will be greatly missed and always loved by all that loved and knew him.

Darryl was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Sr. Crookedneck and Maria Crookedneck; his daughter; Kaylee Crookedneck. His grandchildren; Stephen Snakeskin and Sebastian Snakeskin.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his six children; Marvena (Mike) Baron, Larissa (Blair) Crookedneck, Darry (Maxena) Crookedneck, Steven Crookedneck, Keshia Crookedneck and Jaylene Pahtayken. His five adopted children; Lennox Oakes, Alexxis Oakes, Deja Oakes, Lois Oakes Junior and Xander Crookedneck. His eight brothers; Harold (Rita), Emil (Pat), Clifford, Quincy, Peter Stuart (Dawna), Jerry (Tina), Lorne (Betty) and Dylan (Amber). His two sisters Rona and JoAnn. All his numerous grandchildren.
