Clara Brassard Obituary

Clara was the daughter of Joseph and Helena Hoffman. She grew up on a farm near St. Walburg. Clara was no stranger to hard work and hard times: milking cows, tending garden, picking roots, feeding animals, and helping look after her younger siblings. At a young age she left home and went to work at a hospital in Spirit River, AB.
On July 28, 1954 she married the love of her life, Lucien Brassard. Together, they farmed south of Paradise Hill. During the first few winters they left for Lucien's supplemental jobs. The loving couple returned full-time to farming where they began to raise their family. She cared deeply about her family and always put them first. "She was the best wife. She was the best mother."
Clara was an excellent cook and was the happiest when she could please her family with their favourites, especially her infamous buns. She also enjoyed gardening, picking berries, and tending to her beautiful flowers. Her children and grandchildren have been blessed with her beautifully crocheted and knitted blankets.
Clara had a great sense of humour. She welcomed and accepted people for who they were. Her spirituality, kind heartedness, and patient ways will make her greatly missed by all.
Clara is survived by: her loving husband, Lucien; their children, Beatrice (Marvin) Thompson, Judy (Allan) Ripley, Diana (Chad) Gervais, Susan (Darcy) Banerd, Joan (Ken) Herman, Jane (Ted) McCarron, Brenda (Rick) Caruk, Ken Brassard, and Gary (Leslie) Brassard; grandchildren, Timothy (Nicole), Douglas, Michelle (Cory), Kimberly, Jennifer, Larry (Deanna), Serena, Jordan, Amy, Riley (Terena), Michael, Danica, Angela (Louis), Ryan, Connor, Kirsten, Nikki, Brett, and Tamara; and great-grandchildren, Payton, Ryder, and Berlin; Rudolph, Leo (Helen), Otillia (Bill), Roland, Adele, Martha (Stan), Louise (Wayne), Sophie (John), Joey (Agnes), Donald (Betty), Ruby, Jacqueline (George) and children; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is predeceased by: Joseph & Helena Hoffman, Amie & Marguerite Brassard, Joy Chernetski, Claude Brassard, Jerry Gervais, Horst Werner, Wayne, Gloria, and Linda.
