Cindy Chief Obituary

Cindy Alice Chief was born on January 24, 1964 in Paradise Hill, SK, to Rachel Chief and Gilbert Lewis. Cindy was a very beautiful person who was conscious of her appearance, taking extra attention for fashion to make a good first impression when she entered a room. She was sure to get a second glance from those who loved her. Cindy loved to socialize, dance, sing, play cards, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in their home when she could.

At the age of 16 Cindy was blessed with her first baby boy, Clinton Chief.  On March 31, 1990 she met Marvin Meesto, and together they had four beautiful children; Keenan, Serenity, Dreyton and Tru.  They adopted four children; Bryson, Serayne, Brandynne and Taryn, loving them as if they were their own. Cindy's heart was gigantic, big enough not only to be an adoptive parent, but also to raise numerous foster children. More importantly, traditionally adopting family members, embracing Rose Watchmaker, as her Mother and Valene Grandbois and Conrad Mooswa as her sons.

When Cindy was diagnosed with stage four adenocarcinoma, it ravaged throughout her body quickly, yet she remained optimistic. No matter how painful it was for her, you rarely saw her show any signs of distress or complaint.  She remained calm, yet humble and attentive to everyone around her. Family was important for her to have around while she was in the hospital, and she shared her spiritual-divine journey knowing and accepting that her final place was with God.

Cindy was predeceased by her: children, Keenan Meesto (2011), and Serenity Meesto (1999); mother, Rachel Chief (2009); dad, Gilbert Lewis; grandparents; Alice Chief (1989), Edward Chief (1991), Delphina Lewis and Pierre Lewis; half-brother, Glen Waskewitch (2018); aunts, Philomene Chief, Rose Chief (1972), Joyce Chief (2007), Edna Chief (1994), Jeanette Chief (2007), and Violet Chief (2014); uncles, Frederick Chief, Douglas Chief (1971), Martin Chief (1976), and John Chief (2005); adopted son, Conrad Mooswa (2019).

Cindy leaves to mourn in her passing her: loving husband, Marvin Meesto; children, Clinton Chief (Kendra), Dreyton Meesto and Tru Chief; adopted sons, Bryson Chief, and Valen Grandbois; adopted daughters, Amanda Kishaynew, Cassandra Chief, and Tarynne Knightwalker; foster children, L.Raine-Kematch, Serayne Kematch, and Brandynne McKay; other foster children too numerous to mention; sisters, Laura Perkins, Celina Chief, Wendy Chief, and Angela Chief-Wuttunee (Rudy); brother, Colin Chief (Shannon);  half-brothers, Brednor Lewis, and Winston Wolfe; half-sisters, Brenda Quinney, Donna Lewis, and Wanda Wolfe; grandchildren, Tyrese Doan-Chief, Tianna Chief, Brianna Chief, Kailyn Chief, Darius Chief, Kingston Ketchamonia, Kainen Ketchamonia, and Alice Whitstone-Meesto;  one great-granddaughter; loving aunt, Freda Chief; uncles, Angus Chief (Florence), William Chief and Adam Chief (Marlene); and numerous nieces & nephews.
