Celina Edith Chief

January 9, 1967 ~ January 30, 2021 (age 54)

Celina Edith Chief was born on January 9, 1967, in Paradise Hill, SK to Rachel Chief and Gilbert Lewis. She was a very loving person who always had a smile and open arms. There was never a dull moment when she was in your presence. Regardless if you saw her the day before or years later, her door was always open to family, friends or people who needed shelter. Celina left Onion Lake in the late 80’s and moved to Saskatoon where she started her family.  She was blessed with 2 daughters, Cassandra (Brian) Chief, and  Sierra Chief, and 2 grand children, Emiah Chief and Mikale Chief-Starblanket, whom she adored and loved with all of her heart. In 2019, she moved back to Onion Lake and stayed with our aunt Freda who took care of her until she succumbed to her illness. Her many hobbies included crosswords, sudoku, puzzles, reading novels and going for walks. She had the biggest heart and accepted people for who they were.
She was predeceased by: her sister, Cindy Chief (2019);her mother, Rachel Chief (2009); her dad, Gilbert Lewis(1969); her maternal grandparents, Edward Chief (1991) and Alice Chief (1989); her paternal grandparents, Pierre and Delphine Lewis; her half brother, Glen Waskewitch (2018); her aunties, Philomene Chief, Rose Chief, Joyce Chief, Violet Chief, Edna Chief, and Jeanette Chief; her uncles, Frederick Chief, John Chief, Douglas Chief, and Martin Chief.
Celina leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Cassandra (Brian) and Sierra Chief; her adopted son, Thereon Chief; her  grandchildren, Emiah and Mikale; her brother, Colin (Shannon) Chief; her sisters, Laura Perkins,Wendy Chief, and Angie Chief; her half brothers, Brednor Lewis and Winston Wolfe; her half sisters, Brenda Quinney, Donna Lewis and Wanda Wolfe; her  maternal aunty, Freda Chief; her maternal uncles, Angus (Florence) Chief, William Chief and Adam (Marlene) Chief; her paternal aunties, Rosie (Paul) Chief, Rema (Walter) Pahtayken, Lydia (Kerry) Lewis, Ruby (Lawrence) Thomas and Doris (Raymond) Carter; her paternal uncles, Ronnie (Betty) Lewis, Henry (Arlene) Lewis, Andrew (Matilda) Lewis, and Donald Lewis; and nieces and nephews and many cousins too numerous to mention.
