Bertha Marie Riguidel

Bertha Marie Riguidel passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years, in Wilkie, SK., on June 24, 2021.  She was diagnosed with dementia approximately 4 years ago, and sadly succumbed to complications of the disease.  Bertha was born March 26, 1936 in Spruce Lake, SK.  Bertha grew up in this area and was teaching school in the Kilronan School, and in 1954-1955, also taught at Glenbogie.   George was a student of Bertha's, and this was the beginning of their life's journey.  On October 25, 1956 they were married, and they went on to raise a family of five kids, Laurie, Richard, Gordon, Linda, and Gerald.  Bertha was a very honest, dedicated, loyal, and most importantly, loving person.  She always put 110% into everything she was involved in.  Bertha worked in the hospitality industry, in department stores, and for many years she was involved in farmers markets.  Her love and passion for gardening was the source of her never-ending talent to create the greatest meals.  Some of her many talents included: baking, cooking, crafting, and painting, just to mention a few.  She also volunteered for as many things as she could possibly schedule, helping others in need was very important to her.  If you ever had cinnamon buns created by her hands, you were guaranteed the best.
     
Bertha will be forever missed by her family including: her loving husband, George; her children, Laurie (Jerome), Richard (Shauna), Gordon, Linda, and Gerald (Kim); her five grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Debbie, Denniece, and Le'Raine; numerous other relatives and many friends.
     
Bertha was predeceased by: her father, Leonhard Sendelbach; her mother, Emma Menard; her brothers, Donald Reinhart, and Lawrence Sendelbach; her sister, Irene Kitteringham; and her granddaughter, Keely Saige Riguidel.
     
We would like to extend a special thanks to all of our family and friends that have gathered to offer their loving support and assistance during this time of grief.  Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.  We all share so many special memories of Bertha, and now as we face the future without her, we can find comfort together in our memories.
