Barbara Jean Ritchie (Harse)

Barb was born in Turtleford, Saskatchewan to Frank & Chris Harse on September 29, 1948. She passed away in the Turtleford Long Term Care Home on December 31, 2022.

Barb grew up in Livelong, Saskatchewan surrounded family and many friends. When she graduated from high school she moved on to adventures that took her to live in many places in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

She loved returning to Turtle Lake… her happy place to visit. She loved PIZZA!! Movies, the scarier the better and spending time with her family.  She was the most kind person you would ever meet, always willing to listen and always understanding, never judging.

In the early ‘80’s she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and despite the disease taking control of her body she never let it take control of her positive attitude.  She kept her sense of humour, (she was a very funny lady). She vowed to live each day to the fullest as if it was a gift in spite of the MS.

She is predeceased by: her son, Colen Ritchie; her husband, Ray Ritchie; and her second husband, Carl Meyers.

She leaves to mourn: her daughter, Leeanne Toovey (Barry), their children, Cole, Austin and Kendra; her son, Matthew Kappelar-Ritchie, his son, Jackson; her sister, Nan Beardsworth; her niece, Donna Beardsworth Ritco (Brian); her nephew, Reg Beardsworth (Lorraine); her brother, Percy Harse; and many more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many, many friends who will miss her dearly.
