Arthur Joseph Martell

   Arthur Joseph Martell passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023 at the age of 80. Arthur was born April 16, 1942. He was the sixth child of Bruno and Judile Martell. Arthur was always a hard worker who pushed himself as hard as he pushed others. During his lifetime he worked as a successful trapper, fisherman, forester, heavy equipment operator, long time Band Councilor, business owner and bus driver. He was devoted to his community and worked hard to make things better for those he served and those he loved. Arthur was truly happy when he was with his horses, on the lake and when he was spending time at his cabin on the Waterhen River. He shared his passion and knowledge for being on the land with many.  
   Arthur is survived by his wife Yvonne Mistickokat, children Keith (Cathy), Lloyd, Gordon (Cinnamon), Valerie (Greg), and Randy (Anna); his grandchildren David (MacKenzie), Lauren (Eric), Stuart, Andrew, Kate, Kecia, Maggie, Mona, Nelson (Kassey), Emily (Aaron), Sarah, Melissa (Tyrell), Nathan (Sarah), Cheryl, Cooper (Haley),  Mason (Cassia) and Kennedy. He is also survived by his sister Juliette; Cecile, his first wife and mother of four of his children; his great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his four brothers and his two sisters. Arthur will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. His quick wit, teasing and sometimes his stern direction was always what was needed. We are happy that he is now at peace.  The family wishes to thank the devoted staff at the L. Gervais Memorial Health Centre in Goodsoil for the loving care that he received in his last years.
