John Stanley Johnson was born on January 15, 1935, the oldest child of John and Lena Johnson. Stan received his education at Spruce Bluff, Macrorie and Spruce Lake Schools. He worked for local farmers in 1952-53 and in 1954 he started farming himself. He also worked for the department of highways on a few occasions and drove bus in Brightsand, Spruce Lake and Spruce Bluff for 3 years. Stan married Joyce Lucier and they had 2 children, Stacey and Richard. Stan enjoyed playing baseball and in the later years enjoyed curling and golf. He served on various farm and community organizations. Stan remarried Martha Werner and they resided on the farm until his passing.
He is predeceased by: his brothers, Lloyd, Iner, Albert and Glen Johnson; his sisters, Shirley Nasby, Marilyn McLean, and Joyce Bakken.
Stan is survived by: his wife, Martha; his first wife, Joyce; his children, Richard and his son Layne, and Stacey (Brook Hubernig); Martha's children, Monica (Leonard), David (Heather), Cynthia (Scott), Bob (Karen), Don (Connie), Mike (Debbie), and Lisa (Craig); twenty-one grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
