Samuel Waskewitch Obituary

Samuel Thomas Waskewitch was born August 9, 1953 in Paradise Hill hospital to Madeline Waskewitch (nee Lameman) and Peter Waskewitch. He was the youngest of nine siblings.
Some of his favorite past times were music, singing and playing his guitar. He had a sense of humour such as playing practical jokes, teasing with a twinkle in his eyes and a mischievous smile.  He was a mild-mannered person and was kind to others.  He also enjoyed repairing his quad or his vehicles. Later on, he found new technology, the computer. He enjoyed nature walks, where he would carry his camera and take pictures of nature. This led him to be a photographer for many family occasions.  Sam's other interest was extra-terrestrial and scientific life in outer space, always looking with his telescope.  When he was not busy indoors, he would go quad riding. He was also health conscious, eating healthy and taking care of himself.  Participating in traditional ceremonies like sun dances and sweat lodges were an important part of his beliefs.  He was sadly overcome by the onset of dementia and lost the things he loved to do and later, he no longer knew or remembered the people that loved him dearly. He will be sadly missed by everybody who loved and knew him.

Sam leaves behind to celebrate his life: two sons, Myron Waskewitch, and his mother, Irene Martell, and brother Christopher Martell, and Terry Toutant; two daughters, Laura Toutant and Janine Waskewitch; also a granddaughter, Aaliyah McNabb; three brothers, Percy, Jimmy and Joe Sr. Waskewitch; four sisters, Lydia (Willard) Harper, Shirley Waskewitch, Lillian John and
Elaine Fox; cousins, nephews, and nieces, too numerous to mention.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter (1983) and Madeline (1991); his grandparents, Sam Waskewitch and Nancy Waskewitch (Gladue), and Paul Lameman and Mary Lameman (Whitstone); his sisters, Christina Dillon (2017),  Jean Watchmaker (2007), and Dorothy Cardinal (2019); his nephews, Clifford Dillon (2017), Nelson Dillon (2006) and  Anderson Watchmaker (2010); his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Waskewitch (nee: John)(2016) and Dora Waskewitch (nee Heathen) (1998); and his brother-in-law, Charles Dillon(1990).
