Madeline loved to laugh. Her pastimes were playing bingo, travelling to southern Alberta (Taber), berry picking, and sweet grass picking. She loved making daily calls to her family and friends to check on them. In her early years, she served as the second woman councillor on Band Council in 1977. She was also a teacher. She loved her children and her grandchildren. She took great pride in watching her brothers and son with their horse racing. She was an avid supporter of the A.C.E. racing team. Madeline also loved to watch her grandchildren dance traditional pow wow. She was a strong, resilient, single parent to seven children, who also took the roll of second mother to her nephews and nieces, as they lost their mothers (her sisters).
She is survived by: her children, Martha, Rick, Jeff, Serena, Jennifer, and Roberta (Rueben); her siblings, Lawrence (Nancy), Roy (Marlene), Ronnie (Pauline), Violet, Elmer, and Leslie (Colleen); her 25 grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; and her numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.
Madeline is predeceased by: her son, Calvin; her parents, Robert and Maggie Crookedneck; her sisters, Maria, and Rema; and her grandson, Sean.
