John Joseph Boyd

   John Joseph Boyd was born August 5, 1984 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and died unexpectedly March 18, 2019 at the age of 34. John was a journeyman carpenter and a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 1985 (Prairie Arctic Regional Council). John worked on many projects throughout Saskatchewan. He was dedicated to the sports that he loved: powerlifting and strongman. John was a competitive powerlifter coming in second in North America in 2016 and third in Nationals in 2018. In his spare time John enjoyed hunting and cooking, and had also recently taken up blacksmithing and welding. John is remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humour and great barbecuing skills. 
   John was predeceased by his grandparents, Dr. Donald and Collette Boyd; of Saskatoon. 
   Left to mourn him are: his loving partner, Amy Plag and her children, Eli and Heinreich; his mother, Megan Boyd; his aunts and uncles, Catherine Boyd (Lynn Hughes), Sasha Boyd (Daryl Kinzel), Tara Adam (Drew), James Boyd, and Mark Boyd (Brenda Engel); and his cousins, Thomas, Haley and Claire Adams.  John will also be remembered by his friends in the Saskatchewan strength community.
