Einar was born in Norway on February 29, 1908. He lived in Sarpsborg with his grandparents. He left Norway on April 1, 1927 for Canada and arrived on April 12 in Halifax. He took the train to Winnipeg, MB and traveled on to North Battleford and then to St. Walburg. He went to work for Vic Anderson in the Bright Sand area.
In 1931 after trapping all winter, Einar rode the freight train all over Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia looking for work.
In 1932 Einar met Ina Florence Edwards and they were married on May 9, 1934. They made their first home on the CPR. On November 6, 1934 their son, Gordon Ronald, was born.
In 1942 Einar voluntarily joined the Navy. After the war Einar purchased a quarter of land and they built their home. On Setember 28, 1947 Hazel Margaret was born. The family moved into Mervin in 1960. Einar started working for the Dept. of Highways and worked there until he retired in 1973. After Einar retired he enjoyed gardening and working in his yard until he moved into the Lakeland Lodge in March 2004.
Einar was predeceased by: his parents, Hans and Anna; his wife, Ina; and his great great granddaughter, Ceara Monica.
Einar leaves to mourn his passing: his son, Gordon (Liz) Haug; his daughter, Hazel (Garry) Nedelec; his grandchildren, Lane (Mary) Nedelec, Dawn Nedelec (Terry), Larry Haug, Rick Haug and Ken (Sarah) Haug; his great grandchildren, Bobbie (Stan) Stephenson, Lorne and Brooke Harris, Haley and Kevin Nedelec, Monica, Niki, Jessica, Rebecca, Rochelle, Ryley, Jillian, Blair, Jason, Gregg and Melanie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
