Doreen Lynn Weinhandl

    Doreen Lynn Weinhandl was born on February 23, 1946 in Port Alberni, B.C. to Joseph and Anna Marie Mercier. She took her schooling in Butte St. Pierre and Paradise Hill, SK. On May 6, 1966 she married Jim Weinhandl, and together they raised their three daughters on the farm north of Paradise Hill, SK. Jim passed away on July 14, 2006 leaving a large void in Doreen’s life. Doreen met Elmer Vanberg and they were married on July 7, 2012.
    Doreen was an amazing cook and enjoyed entertaining for all her friends and family. She had many hobbies and interests that included traveling, gardening, fishing, sewing and baking. She loved visiting with her friends and enjoyed sharing a glass of wine. 
    Doreen passed away on July 25, 2019 at the Maidstone Hospital after her second brave battle with cancer.
    Doreen was predeceased by: her husband, Jim (2006); her mother and father, one brother and three sisters, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
   She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Elmer Vanberg; her three daughters and their families, Coralie (Miles) Smith, and children, Libbie & Emile; Roberta (Kelly) Husch, and children, Hayley & Hannah; Shauna (Brady) Wobeser and children, Dalen & Nolan; her brothers, Ed (Sedeila) Mercier, and Roy Morin, her sisters-in-law, Sharon (Vern) Mercer, Gwen Zweifel, daughters-in-law, Lori Mosher, and children, Tristan & Bradley, Tansy (Les) Modrall, and children, Ashley & Cody, Domine (Tadd) Timmons, and children, Jase & Rylan, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ruth Cox, Hugo Vanberg, Kenneth Vanberg, Gerald Vanberg, Bruce Vanberg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
