Delvin Benson Obituary

Delvin Dean Benson was born on April 27, 1960 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He was the 8th child born to Nina (nee. Bullchief) and Isiah Benson.  Delvin spent his early childhood in Fort Belknap, Montana and in 1963 the family moved back to Canada. In 1980, Delvin moved to Saskatoon to attend Kelsey Institute where he apprenticed for Carpentry. When he was a teenager he boxed in North Battleford Boxing Club.  Delvin was a loving and caring father. He loved his grandchildren very much and they always came first. He did what he could for them. If he had to walk to the store for his grandchildren he would. Delvin worked on carpentry. One of his accomplishments was when he helped build the house his family lives in today. Delvin would give inspirational talks to his daughters when they were struggling. This is what they will miss. When one of them was feeling down, their dad was there to bring their spirits up. Delvin was quite the joker and storyteller. He would play jokes on his children all the time. He loved telling stories of his childhood and of his family. There were times when he would tell you a story and you did not know for sure if he was telling the truth or not.
He leaves to mourn: his wife, Connie Stick; their children, Trista (Landon) Pahtayken, Keldon Benson, Tanita Benson, Hannah (Zac) Benson, and Destinee (Fraser) White; his children,  Sheena Scott, Nicole Scott, Darryl Benson and Serena Nicotine; his grandchildren, Beautiful Benson, Landis Benson, Jurnee Stanley, Hazelynne Pahtayken, Miia Pahtayken, Cortez Severight, Kaycee Severight, Annaliese Severight, Zaury Lameman-Benson, Kayzen Chief, Rielle Chief, Brooklyn Jimmy, Kaybree Chief, Zane Benson, AraBella Benson, Scott Benson-Gamble, Sequin Gamble, Lakysha Scott, Korbin Scott, Nicky Scott, Mahikan Benson, Katana Benson, Angel Stoner, and Alex Stoner; his siblings, Gale (Charlotte) Benson, Sharon (Henry) Waskewitch, and Ardella (Andrew) Benson.
He was predeceased by: his step-son, Landis Stick; his grandchildren, Tristan Pahtayken, Chase Scott and Violet Gamble; his parents, Isiah and Nina Benson; his brothers, Samuel (Delima) Benson, Arthur (Eleanor) Benson, Norbert (Rema) Benson, and Darryl Benson; his sister, Brenda Benson; his nephews, Preston Benson, Wilbert Benson and Jesse Rose; and his nieces, Lisa Benson, Melinda Benson, Gayle Benson, Michele Benson-Cook, Jacqueline Benson, and Cheyenne Crier.
