Carey Carson Lewis was born on September 27, 1983, to George Jr. Kanipitetew and Gloria Lewis. He was raised in Onion Lake and met his life partner, Alison, in 1997. Carey loved playing hockey, he was part of the Onion Lake Jr. B Winterhawks and Onion Lake Border Chiefs, playing ball, and playing pool ,he was a pool shark like his dad George. In 2001, his daughter, Jada, was born and in 2004 his son, Ethan was born. In 2002, Carey, Alison, and Jada moved to Edmonton and he worked hard to provided for his family. He worked with different concrete businesses, the last one being Rucon. Carey cherished his wife and children, his kokom Cannepotato and all of his nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by: his father, George Jr. Kanipetetew (Aug 11,2012); his paternal grandfather, George Sr. Kanipitetew (Jan 22, 2014); his uncle, Rodney Cannepotato (April 10, 2013); his nephew, Brandon Cannepotato (June, 1995); his great-grandparents, Jim Kaniptetitew (Littlebear) (Aug, 1996), Josephine Kanipetetew (Chocan) (Oct, 1993); his maternal grandmother, Letitia Lewis (Feb, 2011); and his maternal grandfather, Lawrence Lewis (Dec, 2000).
